7/12/2013

Day 8: The rains continue so we are seeing more children and adults with cold and fever. Seems to go hand and hand with the season! Today some of the team worked with the preschool classes Doing crafts. Linda and I did a blood pressure and eye clinic with the staff of the orphanage.  After lunch we will hold some PE classes with the older kids (providing the rain lets up  enough) otherwise we will be muddy messes! ;)

Today we had American Lunch... Grilled cheese ( small comforts of home)

After  lunch we had PE classes with k-5 and we were exhausted!! They had a blast;)  We then played an Indian game called Kubadee - a game of Indian tag.  The rains then came again and we were inside quickly!!

Tomorrow we hit the markets! Good nite for now!

Day 5: Today we spend the day at the Banjara Tribal Ministries orphanages. We held first aid clinics for about 500 children and then were able to offer a brief overview of the helping babies breathe class to the 3rd year nursing
students. It was a very full day. We then were given a tour of the city by Vinay and all went for Chinese food at Nanking. This was all topped off by some drive thru chai!! It
was awesome!!!! Then back to our home base! Fun and productive day!!

Day 6: Today we went back to Banjara Tribal orphanage and visited the 2nd and 3rd campuses. We ran first aid
clinics for the boys ages 7-12 that live at BTM 2. We then practiced our cricket batting skills;) not so bad for a bunch of American white chicks!! Tonight we will hang out with the youth at Jesus way orphanage and do crafts with them! Should be fun!! Thank you for all your prayers. God has been faithful as always and many opportunities to show Gods love in practical ways!

Day 7: Today was a wonderful day spent teaching at the school. We offered an intro to healthcare for those students in upper classes who had an interest in pursuing a health care Career. The students were very receptive to what we
had to teach. We also held a first aid clinic to the pre school thru 5th grade that had not yet been seen by our team.
Today the rains have come so it prevented our sports teams from playing outside. We are adaptable and
flexible sooooo.... This evening will be crafts and games inside after singing with the youth. Our time has gone by so quickly it is hard to  believe we only have 2 more days til we board a plane for Dubai. Keep the prayers flowing!!!!

India 2013 - Days 3 and 4 (and some pics!)

Day 3: Today was a day filled with church and youth group events! We began at 10 with hours of singing and then time with the younger classes. The words of the day from the team were... joy, inspiring, hope, overwhelming (in a good way) spirit- filled, overcome, peaceful. It was a day where God was felt everywhere and even though we didn't understand a lot of the message and songs because of the language barrier the God we lift our prayers and thoughts and praises to is the same God!

Day 4: Today we taught nutrition class, HIV class and reproductive classes with the 9th and 10th grade classes. They all had
such great questions. We then held first aid clinics for about 400 children, while Abby and Katie played limbo jump rope volley ball and many other games with the children! A very full day!

Day 2: banana pancakes and honey for breakfast and thank The Lord for coffee :). We began our day with a class of basic first aid for the school teachers ( about 20 men and women) We then treated about 150 young boys and girls over the span of 4 hours. Broke for lunch and then back to the clinics. We all then took refreshing cold bucket showers and will participate
