Today we had our first mobile clinic. I am humbled by the grace and faithfulness of the teachers at this village school. God was ever present and had gone on ahead to pave the way. We treated over 80 children and many mothers and infants that traveled several miles to be seen by us. The TPM team functioned together as if we had worked together for years.
I challeneged each team member to sum up today in one word. We had "hope, " "foundation," "connectedness," "gratitude," "humbled," "supported," "speechless," and "blown away," (actually two words but we let it slide. :) Today was an amazing day and many Tiny People were loved and cared for. Talk to you tomorrow, Melissa and Team Africa

Well we are finally here in Zambia! Also referred to as “The Real Africa." Our flights went very smoothly, all the luggage arrived in one piece and cleared customs without any hitches! The daughter of a member of our team, Karen, organized "notes of hope" that children from the States wrote to give to some of the school children. A customs officer saw one when they inspected a bag and was deeply touched by what he read. You just never know who's going to read what!
We then piled 10 people and over 600 pounds of luggage (and I mean piled!!) into a van designed to seat only 7! It brought closeness to a whole new level! Jen had to sit on Nancy's lap the entire ride to King's Highway and poor Matt! Well, let's just say he was wedged in between the door and the edge of the seat. God is good and we arrived safely. We were greeted warmly by the King's Highway staff and had our first official Tiny People Matter meeting in Africa! We talked about cultural sensitivity and having our "eyes wide open" to what God has planned for us. Leonard has done an amazing job arranging our 10 day schedule. We had friends from a local education center join us for dinner. We will start a mobile clinic tomorrow at a local school and attend the children in need then spend time in the morning playing with the children. After lunch, the mothers in the surrounding villages will bring their infants to be seen by us at the clinic. It could be anywhere from 20 to 200 mothers and babies! Only God knows! But we will be ready to serve. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Our time difference is 7 hours ahead so I will say good night and God bless!
