Today was an incredible day, both long and full of meaning. Our journey began with another leg of travel, this time to reach NICU nurses, midwives, and nursing students in Zambia’s newest province, Muchinga. After a short Proflight, we set out on a 5 ½ hour drive that carried us deep into the countryside. Upon our arrival in Chinsali, we were warmly welcomed by the District Health Director and the Deputy Permanent Secretary. We spoke about the mission of Tiny People Matter and why we devote ourselves to mothers and the smallest, most fragile lives. The leaders suggested the possibility of an exchange program, a chance for Zambian health professionals to train in the U.S. and bring back evidence-based practices to strengthen care here at home. The thought of this cross-cultural collaboration was exciting! As the evening stretched on, we turned our focus to preparation. Tomorrow marks the start of our teaching sessions, and so we organized the conference room, reviewed the details of our content, and ensured that we were ready to welcome the large crowd expected to attend. We ended our day with an incredible meal lovingly prepared by Persilla. Around the table, laughter mingled with gratitude before we tucked into our mosquito nets for much-needed rest. Before we closed, each member of our team was asked to choose a word to capture the heart of the day. The words themselves painted a vivid portrait of our shared journey: * Answered prayer * Mindfulness * Unbelievable * Obedience * Joyful * Wonder * Safe * Shaken not stirred * Planes, ferries, and automobiles * Focused Once again God showed up in amazing ways ! His timing is always perfect and He never fails to help the impossible to be. possible !! Team Zambia 2025 Finally Olivia was all tucked snug into her mosquito net!!! 😊
