What a blessed adventure our team’s trip to Africa always is for me. I feel so much more connected to God’s guiding Spirit there than anywhere else. From the awesome team that He brings together, to the wonderful old friends we reconnect with, to the new friends that we meet along the way... it is just a priceless experience! When I think of the people we have had the honor to teach, the children we have gotten to touch with loving hands and hearts, and the ladies and gentleman who have become empowered along the way...my heart just soars. I always receive so much more than I could every even hope to give. I am so blessed!!!

God knew I needed to come back to Africa.  Today, Africa redeemed itself!  I’m just glad I listened.  Today was one of those days that are just wonderful to be part of.  One of my reasons for coming on this trip was to see if this (HBB) program was sustainable from a local perspective.  Alice, a graduate of one of Melissa’s previous courses, pulled together a group of 74 midwives and TBA’s for our course today.  What a great success for Melissa!  I feel blessed to have been here to witness it.  We had such fun teaching these very enthusiastic and energetic learners.  I have no reservations taking this forward to the TBA’s working with the Madzimoyo Board over in the Chipata area next year. I have been praying for a solution to the problem they told us about in 2012…  I know I just found the solution!  (Kathy’s church, The River Community Church, has an existing partnership with this Board.  They are looking for ways to support the TBA’s in their area.)
