Return To Zambia November 2013 - Days 9 & 10

Day 9... Today we left our paradise on earth! We enjoyed FCE so much and the wonderful people there. We all felt as if we were part of the family. They drove us out of the bush to the main road to meet our ride to Chingola. We arrived in Chingola around 2pm our time and we are taking a little time
to rest. Tomorrow we will visit a local church and provide a mobile clinic for the people after church.
Our HBB classes will begin again Monday morning and afternoon. Thankful for safe travels!

Day 10... Today began with attending church at the Baptist church of  Chingola. It was a very inspiring service. The pastor spoke about reclaiming peace in your life and connecting with God. How to be a peacemaker in a world where peace seems to be illusive. He spoke about how unconfessed sin can rob you of peace and how to attain it again. We then spent time with the pastor and some of the people in the congregation. It was back to the lodge for lunch and preparing for our upcoming adventure.

We received permission from the government to go to The Congo border to teach a doctor who is in the ministry of health in Chingola but is a Congolese. He became our guide and translator. He spoke English, Swahili French and some Bemba.

The trip to the border was quite exciting!! We saw miles and miles of trucks waiting to cross over the border to transport goods. They will be waiting for days!! Our class was filled with quite the assortment of  people. Despite the language barriers they understood a great deal of the information. We then got permission to cross the border for a brief picture (this was tourism at its best!) we had one foot in Zambia and one In Congo!  Now back to the lodge. Leonard likes guacamole so we have been purchasing the ingredients on our way back to lodge by stopping at road side stands! Fun!!
Classes begin tomorrow at several clinics in the remote areas of Chingola. Gods fingerprints were all over today!!
