We just boarded our own personal plane to Kasama!! We feel like rock stars!! Our flight from London was delayed for over 2 hours and we missed our connection in Lusaka but God had other plans of us having our own personal airplane!!! Leonard worked it all out for us. All 30 bags made it safely from the US and Canada. We will be in Kasama in 2.5 hours and will hold our first class THIS AFTERNOON!! GAME ON!
OK!! We're here!!! And we've hit the ground running!! We had a class of 19 midwives, anesthesiologists and clinical instructors. TPM Team had severe jetlag, hadn't eaten lunch but we all had great energy and were on our "A" game!! The HBB (Helping Babies Breathe) students were very attentive and very excited to learn this information. Many shared with us how timely our visit was and how grateful they were. We returned to the Wamulamgua Lodge (our home for the next several days) and had coffee and tea and a snack, assembled 60 HBB backpacks and then had a group meeting. We had dinner and off to much needed showers and BED!!! Good nite and thank you for all your prayers!! We have 8 hours of teaching tomorrow! Picture to your right: Students taking the HBB class, acting out the birthing scenarios. we had a lot of fun when the male midwives had to be the moms having the babies! |
