Today began earlier for some as this zone of 7 hours ahead is still engrained in our sleep wake cycles!!! We met for a breakfast of fried eggs, toast, cereal and African omelets...Oh and SEVERAL cups of java! We all piled in a truck and were off to our first class. We taught a class of 13 today. The size made it much easier to really spend quality time reinforcing the curriculum of HBB. Our class for the afternoon was oringally scheduled for Wednesday morning so since my team has been taught to be "FLEXIBLE, ADAPTABLE" and have a sense of "HUMOR" we just rolled with it!! So we took a tour of Kasama General Hospital and met with the Director of Medicine of the Hospital. We then had a special surprise of going to a state park with some beautiful waterfalls and spending time hiking the falls. Tomorrow we will teach our last class in Kasama and hold a ceremony of graduation for all the students who completed the HBB course. Quite a special day of honor for the hard working men and women who took this class. More tomorrow!! Check out our Multi Media Page for more pics |
